AFTAs 2019: Most Innovative ThirdParty Technology Vendor

Constant changes in regulatory requirements have pushed financial institutions to deploy software solutions that enable monitoring to help them identify any potential areas of misconduct in the workplace before they happen. Behavox wins the AFTA for this year’s most innovative third-party technology vendor on the back of its work in helping firms to identify, model, assess risk, and ensure monitoring and compliance with industry regulations, as well as provide fraud monitoring.

In 2019, Behavox launched several products to help with this, and in February began offering a full software-as-a-service (SaaS) deployment model to clients, in addition to on-premises implementations. One of its new products—Behavox Broker Vote—helps banks deal with shrinking commissions in their equity broker units. Asset managers Balyasny and Marshall Wace currently use the tool to determine the commissions they pay to banks.   Meanwhile, Behavox Voice is a compliance solution with a suite of features, including voice biometrics, voice-to-text transcription and paralinguistics. A spokesperson from the company says the offering helps firms address the challenges of tracking employee communications data from phone calls.

“The voice biometrics feature can identify a speaker based on their vocal footprint with ease and accuracy within five minutes of audio communication,” they say.

These products help financial services firms properly collect data that can be reviewed by regulators.

“Behavox provides an effective and scalable solution that delivers compliance with finance regulations such as Dodd– Frank, the Market Abuse Regulation, the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, the Senior Managers Regime, and Mifid II, and meets the requirements of the most exacting regulators, including Finra, the Commodity Futures Trading Commission and the Financial Conduct Authority,” says the spokesperson. Next year, the firm plans to introduce Behavox Boost to allow clients to identify their top performers, model their behavior, and apply it to their worst performers. It will also add Behavox Motivate, a product that measures and analyzes “soft” concepts such as team morale, job satisfaction, team burnouts, trends in employee workloads, and the quality of team collaboration.
